Piper's first christmas

lilly unwrapping christmas presents

maddy on christmas

Lots of lovely little gifts wrapped in brown paper and newspaper, and a few red parcels for colour, tied up with twine and yarn. Many happy faces on Christmas morning.

A present for me, from my husband. Ludo from the movie Labyrinth. He knows me so well.

Piper unwrapping grimm's rainbow

We always rush through present opening so we can get to Church on time. This year, we still arrived late to the service and had to stand at the back anyway. We did get there just in time to watch this adorable short video being screened. We spent the rest of the day saying “Brilliant! They won’t be expecting that!” (you have to watch it to get it).

christmas lunch

christmas crackers

Lunch with family, complete with Christmas crackers and crazy paper hats that are always way too large. Finished up with a splash in the pool and making our tired way home.

    Merry Christmas!

I love the wrapping paper you used for the presents. And I totally wanted to get V that rainbow stacker. You’ll have to let me know how Piper likes it : )

Thanks! We started using newspaper last year as a way to save and recycle, and it worked out so well I think we’re going to do it every year. So far the rainbow is a HUGE hit. At least one of the kids is *always* playing with it. It has been a farm, a backdrop to a story told with wooden animals, beds for the animals, stacked in a variety of clever ways, and so on. I highly recommend it.
