In my overgrown garden

I just adore when my backyard (ok, and the front yard too) gets all overgrown and wild-looking. Maybe it’s because when it comes to gardening I’m not the greatest at it, but I like to think it’s really because as a child one of my favourite books was A Secret Garden. If I had my way, I’d leave it like this year-round and grow plants hither and thither and just let it get all crazy. Of course conveniently forgetting that in that favourite book of my childhood the garden ended up being well-tended.
Zoe wears the beautiful mustard tunic and turquoise leggings by Emerald August. Perfectly adorable and wonderful for exploring down in our overgrown garden. I love the gorgeous modern colours, and Zoe loves the print, which is cute without being cutesy. She calls it her “helephant dress”.
Perfect for playing in. Bare feet totally optional, or, if you’re like Zoe, 100% necessary. This kid does not like shoes and would go barefoot everywhere if she could get away with it.
Sad to say, my husband mowed and whipper-snipped my lovely overgrown front and back yards this morning (although he did wake me up with breakfast and coffee in bed so I can’t be upset). So for now, I’m back to having a bland old garden and will just have to dream about overgrown beauty instead.
Zoe’s tunic c/o Emerald August. Check out their website for super cute clothes, or find them on facebook and instagram.
